When you think of Livigno, what springs to mind are countless ski slopes of various levels of difficulty, neat, state of the art skiing districts and all the events and competitions that take place every year, gathering athletes from all over the world. If you like skiing, you’ve come to the right place!
Alpine skiing is one of the most popular sports in Livigno. Thanks to the two Carosello 3000 and Mottolino skiing districts, standing 3000 metres above sea level, as well as slopes for all levels of experience and the unique skipass which allows you access to both, you are guaranteed to have a great time!
Nordic skiing is most commonly practised here in its cross-country format and is especially popular with those who love classic, narrow skis. Thanks to the artificial snow supplied by SnowFarm, you can start skiing as early as October on 30 km of maintained slopes.
And don’t miss La Sgambeda, an international event dedicated to this type of skiing.
If you love off-slope skiing, near the standard ski slopes are safe, regulated off-slope routes known as Freeride Approaching Areas. Because it’s always better to be safe when having fun.
Thrill-seekers can try their hand at Heliskiing: reach the summit on board a helicopter before freeriding down to the valley! It’s a thrilling but safe experience, as the off-slope routes are low-risk and regulated.
